☀️ WARM WEATHER SAFETY ADVICE – KEEP COOL & STAY SAFE ☀️

With temperatures rising across our area, we’re encouraging everyone to take a few simple steps to stay safe and look out for one another during the warmer weather.

💧 Stay Hydrated

Drink plenty of water throughout the day

Avoid excessive alcohol, which can dehydrate you

🌡️ Keep Cool

Stay in the shade where possible, especially between 11am–3pm

Wear light, loose-fitting clothing and a hat

Keep your home cool by closing curtains or blinds

👨‍👩‍👧 Look Out for Others

Check on elderly neighbours, young children, and those with existing health conditions

Never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles

🔥 Be Fire Aware

Dry weather increases fire risk—avoid open fires or disposable BBQs in parks and near grassland

Dispose of cigarettes safely

💧 Water Safety

Only swim in safe, designated areas

Be aware that open water can remain dangerously cold

🚗 Travelling in the Heat

Ensure vehicles are well ventilated

Carry water, especially on longer journeys

If you feel unwell in the heat (dizziness, headaches, nausea), seek shade, hydrate, and contact NHS 111 if needed.
